Patty Steele hosts “The Backstory with Patty Steele”, a fun, storytelling, twice a week history podcast for iHeart. Her past podcasts include “News On The Rocks” with CBS Newsradio880 morning man Wayne Cabot, as well as “The Deep Six” with WLS-AM Chicago morning man Steve Cochran. In those, she discussed political news, hard news, pop culture, motivation and mindfulness, health, and addiction…winning a coveted National Gracie Award for her podcast on heroin addiction.

In radio, Patty has worked alongside some of radio’s most iconic personalities such as Elvis Duran, Scott Shannon, John Lander, and Danny Bonaduce at stations including New York’s Z100, WPLJ, WOR, WCBS Newsradio 880, 1010 WINS, and most recently, CBS-FM where she was once again teamed with Radio Hall of Famer Scott Shannon.

Patty is very active in charity endeavors. As an eight year cancer survivor, she regularly speaks at events and fundraisers in the fight against breast cancer. She also speaks about addiction as well as history. And she regularly reads to children to share her love of books. In 2017, Patty was honored by the TJ Martell Foundation, a music industry cancer charity. In 2018, she was the keynote speaker for the Breast Cancer Alliance in Westchester and Greenwich, CT helping raise a record $1.7 million dollars. In addition to TJ Martell and Breast Cancer Alliance, Patty has been a speaker several times for Susan G. Komen and National Cancer Survivors Day at Danbury Medical Center In addition to her Gracie Award, Patty was honored with an Airblazer Award by the organization Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio. She was also named one of the most influential women in radio in 2022.

Patty was born in New York City, raised in Lawrence, Long Island and the suburbs of Chicago. She went to high school in Summit NJ and is a graduate of Principia College with a degree in journalism. She is an avid reader and a student of history (especially all things Abraham Lincoln). She loves gardening, animals, architecture, travel, and anything to do with the outdoors. Most of all she loves her family, her three children, and her numerous fur babies!
